Aijaz Ahmed - Founder of Gayathri Higher Primary School

Mr. Aijaz Ahmed, a true visionary and son of a military soldier, established Gayathri Higher Primary School in 1983. Even during his student years, he demonstrated a passion for education and community service by teaching the children of military personnel. His leadership extended beyond the classroom, as he rallied the youth of Gayathripuram to form the Rama Yuvaka Sanga, an organization instrumental in securing land for the construction of a local temple.

Recognizing the need for a school in Gayathripuram, where children were left without proper educational facilities, Mr. Ahmed took action. He named the school after Gayathri Devi, the daughter of the late Maharaja of Mysore, in honor of the area's namesake. Starting with a small rented building and his own savings, he gradually expanded the school, overcoming financial challenges with remarkable resilience. His dedication to providing opportunities for the underprivileged is evident in his decision to employ teachers from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Today, Gayathri Higher Primary School stands as a testament to Mr. Ahmed's vision and commitment. It has grown to include classes up to 8th standard, with official recognition from the Government of Karnataka. The school continues to serve the community, offering quality education and a brighter future for the children of Gayathripuram.
